Meet the Teacher…

First I drink the coffee, then I teach the kids…

I have taught kindergarten for a decade and currently taking a hiatus to be a stay at home mama. I have only ever taught kindergarten- even student taught in kindergarten. Basically, I live, sleep, eat, & breathe kindergarten. I have a reading education endorsement and I am Orton-Gillingham trained. Although I enjoy teaching all parts of kindergarten, I especially love teaching those littles to read.

I live and taught in the metro Atlanta area. And let me tell ya, it was a good time to take a break! Pandemic teaching and this current environment is tough to say the least! I am a remarried mom of two- a 17 year old daughter and a 4 year old ‘baby’ boy.

A little about me- I love tattoos and working on a left arm sleeve…ish. I’m a cat person with a dog. I consider myself an unconventional conventional teacher that mixes a little traditional teaching with new approaches. I am pretty open and love to joke around…. and usually inappropriately. I love *NSYNC, coffee, documentaries (true crime/cults are my jam), mashed potatoes, and above all: my family!

I strive to create activities and tools for teaching that are quick, cute, and engaging for those younger learners. You’ll notice that many of my resources are themed, because, well… I love a good theme! Teachers wear multiple hats, have a mile long ‘to do’ list, not to mention very limited time and support, so I know how helpful it is to have easy hands-on activities at your fingertips. I also enjoy scouring the internet, or sharing my go-to resources for thematic activities, great books, educational videos, crafts, ideas, and lessons to share with you.

Please reach out if you need help, have ideas for me, or would like to make a request!

You can take the teacher out of the classroom, but not the classroom out of the teacher… Grab a cup of coffee and let’s sort through this- erhm… ‘stuff’ together!

Thanks for stopping by!
